Cationic Coating and Size Press Additive

WESCOTE™ 3000-C High Viscosity
WESCOTE™ 3030-C Medium Viscosity
WESCOTE™3050-C Medium Viscosity
WESCOTE™ 3070-C Low Viscosity
WESCOTE™ 3090-C Low Viscosity

Tightly controlled viscosity ranges available to meet your needs.

Trial Objective:
Replace Cationic PVOH with Cationic Wescote™ resulting in equivalent quality and improved costs.
Trial:
Lab work was performed using cationic PVOH as the control. A cationic Wescote™ of equivalent viscosity was trialed. The two papers were then passed through several inkjet printers to evaluate.

Trial Results:
The trial paper was deemed equal to or better than the control. A premium inkjet sheet was purchased on the market and compared to the test sheet. The inkjet print quality was deemed equal to the premium inkjet sheet. Wescote offers a large cost savings vs. PVOH.

Potato starch has a greater bond-forming ability and higher amylose molecular weight.

It also has lower lipid and protein levels which make it more efficient than corn.

Lower lipid levels allow either increases in internal bond strength, decreased use of starch or both.

In many applications, potato starch is the better choice!
