In addition, WPC supplies and services paper mills throughout the United States. Our sales and technical service representatives are located in the Northwest, Midwest, and Northeast which enables us to respond to the needs of any of our accounts quickly.

Western Polymer brings its strength to the advantage of its customers in many ways.

Strength in Service
Western Polymer Corporation offers value over and above the quality of our starches alone. We provide a dynamic combination of customer service and support unequaled in the industry. A strong commitment to helping our customers meet their evolving needs is an integral part of our success.

A crucial component of our commitment to our customers is a readily accessible, responsive team of highly trained technical professionals who are dedicated to building strong partnerships with our customers. A great compliment to our quality starches – the team's goal is to help the papermaker successfully achieve their objectives in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner.

Western Polymer's application specialists assist in selecting the best combination of wet-end and size-press starches tailored to meet specific needs. We use our ability to work with mill personnel at all levels – as well as the mill's other chemical suppliers – resulting in solutions which add strength not only to paper, but also to the bottom line!

Strength in Product Quality
A more consistent paper product, better run-ability and lower costs are the result of eliminating process variables. Paper mill profit margins will reflect the advantage of Western Polymer’s more stringently controlled starch specifications. Western Polymer does not merely strive for tighter specifications – we continuously meet the challenge.

Western Polymer is ISO 9001:2000 certified. This means customers can depend on the superior quality of our starches to produce consistently excellent paper products.

Strength in Innovation
We know paper customers need versatile and innovative products. As a supply partner, we are firmly dedicated to creating and developing custom-designed starches to meet our customers' distinct evolving needs.

Western Polymer’s sophisticated line of starches is guaranteed to meet a mill's basic requirements. And our specially designed custom starches can help give you a highly competitive edge in the marketplace.

In concert with other innovations in application technology, Western Polymer starches can help you outpace the competition!

Our Team
We are considered a small company in the starch business, but a large company in potato starch volume and expertise.  Because of our size, we are better able to make products that are specifically designed for each customer and provide the technical service required by each mill. With the majority of our sales and technical service staff each having over 20 years of hands-on experience, their natural approach is to be proactive rather than reactive. Our staff continually works with mill personnel and other chemical suppliers to optimize paper machine performance as well as design, build, install, set-up and service custom starch cookers because proper preparation is essential to the final starch application.  Working as a team is an integral part of WPC's customer service.

Our Supply
Our raw supply is primarily from the recovery of potato starch from french fry and potato chip processors.  The Columbia Basin region, from Hermiston Oregon to Moses Lake, is the largest producer of french fries in the United States. This puts us close to our raw material supply and also close to our West Coast customers making Moses Lake the ideal location for our facility. Our second facility in Grand Fork, North Dakota enjoys similar access to raw materials and is closer to our customers in the Midwest and Eastern U.S.

Our Reputation
At Western Polymer Corporation we have built our reputation on producing custom cationic starch products for our customers, maintaining a consistent high quality product and quickly responding to our customer's changing needs. Our customers include the biggest names in the paper industry making linerboard, fine paper, converting papers, functional papers and small specialty mills located in the Midwest and on the East Coast. Year after year our customers are satisfied and our partnerships grow stronger because of one thing... our strengths.
